What do we do?
The UMSA/Sida Program works on strengthening the management of research, graduate studies, social interaction, and innovation at UMSA, the training of human resources at the doctoral level, and the technological equipment of research institutes for the execution of projects in various areas of knowledge. It has implemented management processes for research and administrative support for the work of project coordinators and researchers in the Faculties, Programs, and Research Institutes, facilitating the management of administrative and financial accounting procedures through trained human capital in the handling of national and international cooperation funds. This allows researchers to dedicate more time to research, minimizing the administrative burden. These supported activities have promoted the standardization of processes and procedures, generating a common language about management, quality, and financial management. Strategic instruments for the management of research, graduate studies, social interaction, and innovation have been implemented, significantly impacting the university environment. Research has been promoted through the funding of 35 doctoral training projects in the period from 2000 to 2021, and for the period from 2021 to 2025, 19 doctoral training subprograms, 25 doctoral research projects, and 12 research management projects in various areas. The articulation of research with undergraduate and graduate studies has been encouraged through the participation of students in multi-, inter-, and transdisciplinary research teams through internal and external calls for applications, promoting a research culture at UMSA.
