Within the framework of the agreement signed in 2000, the UMSA/Sida Program has the significant support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

This support is essential for strengthening research and graduate capabilities at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés.

The UMSA-SIDA program is a cooperation initiative between the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (ASDI or Sida). Its main objective is to strengthen the scientific and technological capacities of UMSA through applied research, training of researchers, and engagement with society.

Faculty-researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as laboratory technicians linked to institutes and research centers of UMSA can participate. In some cases, collaboration with national and international institutions is also encouraged.

The program provides financial support for the development of scientific research, graduate training (master's and doctoral degrees), laboratory equipment, academic internships, publications, and outreach and social impact activities.
